Are you dreaming of a research internship abroad? Do you want to attend a convention either inside or outside the Netherlands? With our travel grants we offer our members some financial support to expand their horizon and to explore the world. Below you can find an overview of the travel grants administrated by KNCV and its sections.
KNCV FELLINGA FUND
For (PhD) students and young professionals. The grant can be used to cover expenses associated with a visit to a chemistry convention both in the Netherlands and abroad.
Requirements:
- KNCV member for at least two years.
- Age: <30 years.
- Studying or working in (bio)chemistry or chemical engineering.
- Maximum contribution: € 450,- when traveling within Europe and € 750,- when traveling outside Europe.
- Deadline application: three months before the start of the event.
KNCV Chemistry Europe Travel Grant
For (PhD) students and young professionals. The grant can be used to cover expenses associated with presenting research at a chemistry conference in the Netherlands or abroad.
Requirements:
- Paid KNCV membership for at least one year.
- Published in one of Chemistry Europe’s magazines in the last two years.
- Age: <30 years.
- Maximum contribution: € 500.
- Deadline application: two months before the start of the event.
KNCV Foreign Internship Organic Chemistry
For students of Dutch universities or universities of applied sciences. The grant can be used to cover expenses associated with an internship at a foreign non-profit organization.
Requirements:
- Member of the KNCV section Organic Chemistry.
- Studying at a Dutch university or university of applied sciences.
- Maximum contribution: € 500.
- A maximum of five grants are awarded every year.
- Deadline application: six weeks before the start of the internship.
KNCV Foreign Internship Catalysis
For students of Dutch universities and universities of applied sciences. The grant can be used to cover expenses associated with an internship at a foreign non-profit organization in the field of catalysis.
Requirements:
- Member of the Dutch Catalysis Society.
- Studying at a Dutch university or university of applied sciences.
- Internship has to be in the field of catalysis.
- Maximum contribution: € 500.
- Deadline application: six weeks before the start of the internship.
NBVMB Travel Grants
The NVBMB provides various travel grants to help members with internships or post-doc fellowships (via the Federation of European Biochemical Societies, FEBS). Members are invited to apply for grants of up to € 4,000.
NVMS CONFERENCE FUND
The purpose of the NVSM Conference Fund is to subsidise the attendance of NVMS members to international conferences. Travel grants are available to researchers (BSc, MSc, PhD and post-docs, for a maximum of two years after completing their PhD research project). Membership of the NVMS and a position in the Netherlands of at least 0.5 FTE are required. Applications must hold the same position when attending the conference as at the time of applying for the grant.
Amount: variable.
