Candidates can only be nominated for this prize by their supervisor. The Bachelor’s thesis must relate to research in the field of chemistry, life sciences, process technology or (bio-)molecular sciences carried out as part of the programme at university in the Netherlands. Non-Dutch candidates are also eligible for the award. A jury appointed by the KNCV will review the candidates and the submitted Bachelor’s theses.
The nominations for the Gouden Spatel 2018 are closed. Candidates for the Gouden Spatel 2019 can be submitted at the end of 2019. Candidates do not have to be graduated, but their report has to be marked in 2019. If you want to nominate a student, please submit:

- Two hard-copies of the bachelor thesis.
Per e-mail:
- Digital version of the bachelor thesis
- A short statement from the supervisor(s) explaining why the student should be considered for the award. Provide specific examples that support the award criteria (importance and quality of the research, self-reliance of the candidate while writing the report).
- Candidate’s resume and contact details.
