In 2009, the KNCV introduced the Golden Master Award. The award is granted for the best Master’s thesis in chemistry in the Netherlands. In addition to the award, the winner receives a certificate and a €1,000 prize. Two second prizes are also awarded, consisting of a certificate and €250 each.
The finalists for the Golden Master Award 2024 have been announced!
After extensive deliberation, the jury selected three finalists from all entries. We will announce the winner at the Evening of Chemistry on October 10 in Amersfoort. The three finalists, in alphabetical order, are:
- Marko Beslać, Eindhoven University of Technology
'Triazatruxene-based supramolecular polymers' - Frank de Kleijne, Radboud University Nijmegen
'New methods for detection and characterization of glycosyl cations' - Loes Kleinsmit, University of Twente
'Design, fabrication, and validation of microreactors to study olivine carbonation in-operando with high-throughput'
The winner of the Golden Master Award 2023 is Milo Cornelissen (UvA/VU).
Milo did a research entitled: 'Incorporation of Directional and Quinone-Functionalized Macrocycles in Covalently Synthesized Rotaxanes'
The second prizes were for:
- Silvana Caipa, TU Delft
'Hematite Micro-swimmers with enhanced photoactivity' - Johanna van Gent González, Universiteit Groningen
'Photocatalytic Dye Degradation over Modified Ferroelectric Barium Titanate'
