Founded in 1903, the KNCV is the professional association of chemists, life scientists and process technologists in the Netherlands...
The Royal Netherlands Chemical Society (KNCV) is the largest chemical professional association in the Netherlands. Our member base consists of people with a shared passion for molecules and includes chemists, life scientists, process technologists and (bio-)molecular scientists. Our 8,500 members, who work hard to bring the variety and richness of the molecular field to life, operate in business, education and government or study at universities or institutions of higher education in Netherlands.
The KNCV is the representative of chemistry, life sciences and process technology in the Netherlands – three disciplines which contribute significantly to our social and community welfare. Alongside representation and networking activities, the KNCV also contributes to presenting a correct image of chemistry by providing accurate and proper coverage of chemistry.
The molecular sector is important for the Netherlands, from an economic perspective and because of its high international reputation. A quarter of the Dutch research and development expenses are related to the molecular sciences.
The KNCV also has a strong presence in the European arena via our role in EuCheMS, the umbrella organisation for 47 European chemical societies. On an international level, the KNCV is active in various divisions of the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC).
The molecular sector employs responsible and engaged people who are passionate about developing products that make a significant contribution to the world.
Together, they form the KNCV.
